Chinese developers that have worked on an iOS Appdevelopment have received their payment thismorning, and it's seven times higher than theyexpected.
Apple seems to have made a huge mistake, according to several Chinese developers. As thedevelopers said on Weibo, they got paid thismorning, seven times more than they should have.
The reason for this is that, apparently, Apple has treated US dollars (USD) as renminbi (RMB).
In the past, Apple used US dollars as a unit of measure when it settled for App developers andconverted to RMB when it was settled for domestic developers. This means that all developersnow have a full seven times in revenue.
In response to this matter, Sina Digital also asked some familiar developers, and they saidthat they had not encountered this situation.
For Apple apps, developers can end up with 70%, while Apple accounts for 30%. It is reportedthat Apple will have a spending cycle for each developer, and developers usually receivesoftware revenue from the previous month at the beginning of each month.
At the same time, Apple has a minimum amount of money for developers. When developers'app income reaches/accumulates to meet the payment requirements, Apple will often providedevelopers with detailed income reports.
Apple officials have not yet responded to this call, and it is not clear how Apple will eventuallydeal with the misuse of US dollars for domestic developers.
